Technical Briefings Proposals

Technical Briefings

ICSE Technical Briefings provide a venue for communicating the state of a topic related to software engineering. The topic may describe a software engineering activity, such as the state-of-the-art in requirements engineering, or it may describe a related method or technique, such as machine learning or Bayesian statistics.  Selected topics will be allocated a 90 minute slot on the day before the main ICSE conference (Tuesday May 24, 2011).  Technical Briefings participants will be able to attend topic presentations of their choice to learn about the state-of-the-art in different areas. We are soliciting potential topics and presenters, so please send us your suggestions.

Proposal Submissions

A submission should include a title, a paragraph describing the topic, a paragraph explaining why the topic would be of interest to a broad section of the software engineering community, and the names and short biographies of potential speakers. A submission should be no longer than 1 page and should be in PDF format. You may nominate a topic without a potential presenter, you may nominate yourself as a presenter  or you may nominate others as potential presenters. The Technical Briefings committee will review the submissions and will select topics and potential presenters.

Submissions are due September 17, 2010 and will be managed through CyberChairPROPresenter invitations will be sent out November 19, 2010.

Questions should be directed to Gail Murphy <murphy@cs.ubc.ca> and Andreas Zeller <zeller@cs.uni-saarland.de>
